Yelland was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
Holding the rank of Lieutenant, Yelland served on the staff of Lieutenant Commander Adam Golbatsi, operations officer of Cruiser Squadron 96, and was the only one of Golbatsi's officers without combat experience. (HH12)
