Thurso was one of the two inhabited planets of the Loomis System, orbiting its primary jointly with its sister world of Halkirk.
More than ninety percent of its surface was covered in water, with countless green archipelagoes spread all over it. Its population was comparably small, but operated a successful fishing industry. (SI4)
