Biography[]
While on a slaving run near a habitable planet in the Confederacy, his ship was intercepted by the Royal Manticoran Navy heavy cruiser HMS Fearless. The vessel's commander, Captain Honor Harrington, ordered him to power down his engines and surrender. He responded by "jettisoning the cargo" (i.e. spacing the slaves he transported) and then threatened to kill a group of hostages, including a cousin by marriage of Queen Elizabeth III. When Harrington refused, he shot one of the hostages in the head.
She then agreed to meet on the surface of the planet with a small team to transfer the hostages in exchange for free passage from the system. The slaver captain agreed and left, leaving behind the men he sent out for the exchange. However, Harrington ordered her first officer to broadcast the slaver vessel's signature, acceleration and vector on all frequencies. This gave a Havenite battlecruiser that was monitoring the system the chance to intercept. The slaver captain tried to surrender, but the Havenites destroyed his ship with their energy weapons, killing him and his entire remaining crew. (ToH:BtK0)
