Shai-gwun Metterling was an Andermani-born citizen of the Kingdom of Torch and a military intelligence officer.
He served as a well-regarded and decorated Colonel in the Imperial Andermani Navy's office of naval intelligence when word reached him that a nation of former slaves had been founded. He subsequently immigrated to Torch and soon became an agent of Ruth Winton, head of Torch's intelligence services. (CS2)
