A religion was an organized body of beliefs, tenets and practices centered around the worship of one (monotheism) or many (polytheism) supernatural beings, which claims to provide an explanation of the origins and meaning of human nature, life and the Universe, a relationship between the individual and the divine, and a derivative code of morality for practice in daily life.
