He was friends with Travis Long, and tried to use him as an unknowing getaway driver when he and his accomplices robbed Aampersand's jewelry store in Landing in 1529 PD. However, Long walked away from the scene to talk to a Royal Manticoran Navy recruitment officer. In the meantime, Corcoran's gang had a shootout with the store's apprentice goldsmith, who was a retired police officer, and were eventually arrested.
During his trial, Corcoran tried to implicate Long as the mastermind of the crime, but thanks to the recruitment officer's testimony, the judge dismissed the charges against Long. (MA1)
