Found near the southern edge of the Tannerman Gulf area, it did not regard humans as much of a threat. It was believed to be omnivorous, and stood nearly 1.4 meters tall at the mid-hip, and two meters tall at the top of the head when in "centauroid" posture and weigh up to 550kg (1200lbs). Its overall body length was about four meters.
Although not as territorial as a hexapuma and not a pure carnivore, the peak bear was a ferocious hunter and was considered the second most dangerous land animal of Sphinx. (SK1, Tech Bu9)
