More Than Honor is the first anthology of short stories set in David Weber’s Honorverse.

The story of the first meeting between Stephanie Harrington and the treecat Lionheart (a.k.a. Climbs Quickly), which leads to the first Bonding between members of the two races.

A story with few links to any other in the Honorverse setting. Careful reading may reveal similarities to the first novel in his RCN Series, in the characters, style, and attitude. Both were published in 1998. Indeed Drake confirmed that A Grand Tour is in fact the conceptual antecendant of With the Lightenings.

The story serves as background to the Leveler Uprising mentioned in the early chapters of In Enemy Hands: a radical Havenite faction stages an uprising against the Committee of Public Safety, wreaking havoc in Nouveau Paris. With the Committee's security forces in complete disarray following an attack on its information network, the only force able to intervene and restore order is Admiral Esther McQueen with her Navy. Even though the Admiral is not precisely a supporter of the Committee and has an agenda of her own, she brutally crushes the uprising, killing most of radicals and leaving Chairman Pierre in doubt about the decision of giving her the power she now has.
