Matthew Perry was a citizen of the United States during the mid-19th Century CE on Earth.

Perry was the younger brother of Oliver Perry, the U.S. commander at the Battle of Lake Erie. Perry led a delegation from the United States to the Empire of Japan and helped open the country to the modern age.

In 1903 PD, Protector Benjamin IX of Grayson compared Grayson to how Japan was before Perry arrived. (HH2)
