They were found mainly along waterways or in marshy territory, and grew relatively low and bushy, with very long, streamer-like leaves. The leaves had a pierced look, because they formed insect-trapping openings (thus the name “lace willow”). The treecat name for lace willow is ribbon-leaf. (SK3)
