King Michael's Cathedral was the supreme church building of the Second Reformation Roman Catholic Church in the Star Kingdom of Manticore, located in the capital city of Landing on the planet Manticore.
The cathedral was known as Landing Cathedral until the death of King Michael. (MA3)
History[]
Construction of the Cathedral was begun by King Michael in 1528 PD and paid for out of the House of Winton's private fortune. Construction was completed six years later in 1534 PD. (MA3)
In 1542 and 1544 PD respectively, the cathedral served as the site of the coronations of King Edward I and his successor Queen Elizabeth II. (MA4)
In 1921 PD, Raoul Alexander-Harrington was baptized in the cathedral in both the faith of the Second Reformation Roman Catholic Church and the Grayson Church of Humanity Unchained.[1] (HH11)
In June 1922 PD, the Royal wedding of Crown Prince Roger Winton and Rivka Rosenfeld was held in the cathedral. (HH13)
Internments[]
Only the Manticoran royal family and certain important non-Royals[2] were interred within the cathedral. Among those interred in the cathedral were Commodore Edward Saganami, father of the Royal Manticoran Navy, and Rear Admiral Ellen D'Orville. After her supposed execution at the hands of the People's Republic of Haven, Honor Harrington's empty coffin was interred between Saganami and D'Orville. (HH8)

The cathedral housed the private Winton family crypt behind an antique looking grill of battle steel fashioned to appear as wrought iron. (Companion)
