Kenneth Bashanova was a Manticoran citizen and an officer candidate of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
He was the fourth son of an earl and the grandson of a duke, and was a distant relative of Aivars Terekhov.
A typical arrogant aristocrat, he was disliked by the majority of cadets at the Royal Manticoran Naval Academy, including Helen Zilwicki. After graduating, he was originally assigned to the heavy cruiser HMS Hexapuma for his Midshipman cruise, but was swapped out with Aikawa Kagiyama at the last moment.[1] (SI1)
