Jennie Greentree Ayres was a Grayson citizen and the second wife of Captain Matheson Ayres, and sister of Commander Phineas Greentree.
According to her husband, she was horrified by the assignment of Midshipwoman Claire Bedlam Lecroix, a female officer candidate, to her husband's ship, GNS Ephraim. However, the Ephraim's Wardroom Wives' Club did decide, upon meeting her, to treat Claire as an unoffical auxiliary, a treatment which continued after she was promoted and transferred.
She was killed in February 1922 PD when the Blackbird Yard, where she resided when her husband's ship was in yard hands, was destroyed by the Mesan Alignment Navy as part of Operation Oyster Bay. (HHA6.5: OS)
