James Sharif was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy.

Holding the rank of Captain, he served as the commanding officer of the superdreadnought HMS Intolerant, part of Battle Squadron 61. As such, he was Rear Admiral Allen Morowitz's flag captain. (HH11)
