HMS Reliant was the lead ship of the eponymous class of battlecruisers used by the Royal Manticoran Navy.

In 1903 PD, Reliant, under the command of Captain Edwards, was the flagship of Admiral Hamish Alexander, and assigned to Battlecruiser Division 17. She led a relief force sent to help Captain Honor Harrington after HMS Apollo arrived heavily damaged and filled with wounded from the First Battle of Yeltsin's Star.
Upon her arrival in the middle of the Second Battle of Yeltsin's Star, Reliant sent a message to HMS Fearless, but Fearless' communications array was not functional. Reliant and her squadron went on a direct course for the planet Grayson, while the rest of relief force went between Grayson and the system's star. Battlecruiser Squadron 17 fired their missiles, which destroyed the Masadan attacker, MNS Thunder of God, before it could reach Grayson.
In the aftermath of the battle, Reliant and the relief force went to the Endicott System and conquered Masada in the First Battle of Endicott. Reliant then returned to Grayson. Captain Harrington met with Admiral Alexander and others aboard the vessel, where she was reprimanded for striking Reginald Houseman, but also knighted by Ambassador Langtry on behalf of Queen Elizabeth III, and named Steadholder of Harrington Steading.
