Ginger Lewis, OC, CGM, was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy. She was a "mustang", an officer who had been promoted from the enlisted ranks.

Physical appearance[]

Lewis was an attractive, red-haired woman with a soprano voice. (SI1)

She strongly resembled Anastasia Terekhov, according to the latter's parents. (SI4)

Biography[]

She graduated nineteenth out of her Navy training class of one hundred. Aubrey Wanderman was in the same class.

Holding the rank of Electronics Technician Second Class in 1909 PD, she served as a gravitics specialist aboard the Q-ship HMAMC Wayfarer. During the vessel's anti-piracy mission in the Silesian Confederacy, Lewis was promoted to Senior Chief Electronics Mate, and was almost killed when her EVA suit malfunctioned after being sabotaged. She took over damage control when the ship was critically damaged by the Havenite battlecruiser PNS Achmed in the Battle of the Selker Rift. (HH6)

She later received the Osterman Cross as well as the Conspicuous Gallantry Medal, and, as a result of her extraordinary conduct, was offered a position at Fleet Officer Candidate School aboard HMSS Vulcan, eventually earning an officer's commission.

In 1920 PD, Commander Lewis was assigned as chief engineer of the newly commissioned heavy cruiser HMS Hexapuma during its mission in the Talbott Cluster. She formally welcomed Hexapuma's first group of midshipmen for their graduation cruise with the active duty Navy. Due to injury to other officers during the Battle of Monica, she also acted as Executive Officer for Hexapuma for an extended period. (SI1)

By early 1922 PD, she had been promoted to Captain (JG) and was assigned to research and development division under Admiral Yeager's staff aboard the space station HMSS Weyland. Due to a training exercise, she was absent when the station was destroyed by the Mesan Alignment Navy's Operation Oyster Bay. (HH12)

After Operation Oyster Bay she was given command of the combat support ship HMS Charles Ward and sent to the Talbott Quadrant. (SI4)
