An Old Earth lemming
The lemming was an animal native to the planet Medusa in the Basilisk System.
It was named after an Old Earth animal because they both had a similar trait; when they reached a ecological maximum due to over population, they would commit mass suicide by swimming out to sea until they drown or hurl themselves off a high cliff.[1] (SI1)
