The Earldom of Breakwater was one of the original peerages of the Star Kingdom of Manticore.
In the early 16th Century PD, the ruling Earl Breakwater, Lord Anderson L'Estrange, served as Chancellor of the Exchequer; he was a proponent of dissolving the Royal Manticoran Navy and making the Manticoran Patrol and Rescue Service the sole security force for the Manticore System. (MA1, MA2)
