David and the Phoenix

David and the Phoenix was a 1957 CE children's novel about a young boy's adventures with a phoenix. It was the first book written by Edward Ormondroyd, a tale of friendship between two different species, beginning with David's education in the ways of the mythical world and ending with the Phoenix's rebirth.

Thousands of years after its creation, the book was a favorite of Honor Harrington's, and she liked to read it to children.[1] (HH11)
