The Blackbird Yard was a Grayson naval shipyard in orbit of the moon Blackbird in the Yeltsin's Star System.
It was conceived and built on the initiative and with great financial involvement of Steadholder Honor Harrington, who also convinced the Hauptman Cartel to make a sizeable investment in the project. (HH8)
Other contributors to the project included the Hauptman Cartel, Grayson Sky Domes, Ltd., and the Grayson Office of Financial Development. (HH9)
However, in February 1922 PD, the Blackbird Yard was completely destroyed by the Mesan Alignment Navy's Operation Oyster Bay. Almost its entire workforce was killed, as was High Admiral Wesley Matthews, who was at a routine conference aboard the station. (HH12)
The destroyer GNS Manasseh was one of the first vessels on the scene after the attack, and provided first response services as well as helped recover the bodies of the victims. (HHA6.5: OS)
