Astrography in n-space was the locating and identifying stars and their associated systems; in hyperspace it was the measurement of the strength, direction and morphology of gravity waves, normally and historically for the purpose of charting an area of space for the safe navigation of shipping. It included the identification and locating of such things as asteroid belts, wrecks, structures, navigational beacons and system characteristics. (HH3)
